Radhasoami Satsang Sabha Holds a Special Meeting

Murar, 2010

Special Meeting of the Radhasoami Satsang Sabha, Dayalbagh (Agra) held at Murar on Sunday the 13th June, 2010 at 8.30 A.M. with President P.B. Prem Kumar in the Chair.

STATEMENT OF PRESIDENT

The President made the following statement:

  1. “Radhasoami Dayal incarnated Himself in the year 1818 in the form of Param Purush Puran Dhani Soamiji Maharaj in this world for the redemption of all jivas. On Basant day in 1861, He declared open His Satsang to public in general which was an event of unparalleled Mercy since the beginning of history. By His grace Satsang has been making steady progress ever since. The Nijdhar has continued to function in different human forms continuously. From Param Guru Huzur Sarkar Sahab we received the assurance that the Nijdhar will not return until it had completed its task of redemption of all the jivas.
  2. In course of time, several Centres of Radhasoami Satsang have got established, though only 5 or 6 of them are significant. Apart from Dayalbagh, mention may be made of Radhasoami Satsang Beas, Radhasoami Satsang Soamibagh, Radhasoami Satsang Pipalmandi, Agra and Radhasoami Satsang Dinod. There are a couple of off shoots of Beas Satsang called Ruhani Satsang in Delhi.
  3. According to our conviction the Nijdhar can exist only in one Guru at one time. But, as we have been told, like the Avtars who founded different religions and described the enlightenment experienced by them truly, the attainments of the Gurus of different sects of Radhasoami Faith can be different and one can get Darshan of the Gurus upto the region of their reach. However, instead of getting embroiled in the argument as to where the Nijdhar is reposed, it is possible and desirable to maintain good and brotherly relations with followers of all such sects, as was mentioned in the Holy Discourse of March 1, 2010 in the Special Holi Satsang and I quote:

“It is with the strength of the Nijdhar that all the Gurus are able to maintain progress of their respective Radhasoami communities. We should not consider them fake. We are all pilgrims treading the same path and desirous of reaching the same destination ultimately. Therefore there should be greater understanding and cooperation rather than conflict and rancour among different Radhasoami Communities.”

  1. In identifying the groups whom we may consider as belonging to the larger Radhasoami Community we may see if they satisfy three essential criteria:
        1. Recognise Param Purush Puran Dhani Soamiji Maharaj as Avtar of Radhasoami Dayal
        2. Accept Radhasoami Naam as the true Nij Naam and
        3. the practice of Surat-Shabda-Yoga under the guidance of a living Sant Satguru as the way for attaining salvation.
  2. A Major step in this direction was taken when Huzur Sahabji Maharaj and Maharaj Sawan Singh Sahab of Dera Baba Jaimal Singh of Beas reached an agreement in December 1932. This historic event shows us the path as well as the steps that may be taken for attaining our goal. It was stated in the agreement that on the basis of the acceptance of the above mentioned three principles, it will be possible for the Satsangis attached to Dayalbagh and Beas Satsang to have brotherly and affectionate behaviour towards each other. Each Satsang will continue to make its separate arrangement and it will be open to every Satsangi to join any group according to his inclination and choose the Sant Satguru Whose guidance he wishes to follow. No Satsangi, by any written word or utterance will make any statement which may be derogatory to other Satsang. It also pointed out that the Satsangis were well aware that the Satsang movement had been started to spread true religion and peace and tranquillity in the world and to attract people towards the Holy Feet of Huzur Radhasoami Dayal and this object can be better achieved by maintaining mutual affection and brotherly relations among different sects. With this end in view, Satsangis should make effort to strengthen the relationship of brotherly affection among them. It will be proper and best however for Satsangs, if the assets and properties of each sect continue to be maintained and looked after by the concerned Centres according to their wishes and thinking. They should also continue to organise their Satsang in a manner as may be considered best.
  3. In this the 150thyear of Satsang it will be appropriate, therefore, to extend on behalf of the Satsangis of Dayalbagh, a hand of friendship to other Satsang Centres. What could be a better place for taking this initiative than the most holy land of Murar. It is with this end in view too that following the international seminar being convened by D.E.I. on “Religion of Saints (“Sants”) – Radhasoami Faith: Spiritual Consciousness Studies” on November 12-14, 2010, a Conclave of the leaders of the major Centres of Radhasoami Faith has been convened and invitations sent to the August Leaders of the Sects to join the Conclave.
  4. A major step in this direction can be taken by declaration by Sabha on the lines of the agreement reached between Beas and Dayalbagh and for it to express its willingness to respect the right of each sect to manage its affairs and its properties, while providing access to all followers of different sects to Satsang shrines. Towards this end as a positive step, Sabha could pass a resolution unilaterally to express its unequivocal intent to withdraw the pending suits in Court of law against the Central Administrative Council and Radhasoami Trust, Soami Bagh, Agra with necessary safeguards that may be legally required, if they were to accept the right of Dayalbagh Satsangis to offer obeisance and hold Satsang at the Holy Samadhs.”

Thereafter the Members unanimously passed the following Declaration called the Murar Declaration of 13th June, 2010.
